Weekend Recap!

Lots to post about since Thursday.
Friday afternoon we went to a play date. It was loads of fun and Daniel had a great time. Between 15+ kids and 10 moms it was a loud house. The weather didn't cooperate so we were confined to the indoors where the noise level reached its maximum after toys were not being shared or kids were getting hurt. Daniel survived it without any injuries except maybe his pride as he's not one to defend himself YET, he has to learn on his own. Thanks Ursula for hosting, you are brave!
Chaos!

Saturday we had our morning class and then speech therapy. Nothing really new to report except that Daniel is making more noises.
I ordered some whistles to help with m, b and p sounds, an echo microphone that will encourage Daniel to make more sounds as the microphone echos, he did really well with that on Saturday, I also ordered an activity book that has numerous activities to do at home to encourage speech and last but not least a CD with music that encourages imitation. I ordered it from http://www.talkingchild.com/, a great website that I strongly recommend.

The therapist was very impressed with how proactive I am. I'm sure she thinks obsessive is a better description. The therapist was very impressed when Daniel pointed correctly to D, A and N letters on his monogrammed chair. Obviously, that comes easy to him. Go figure.

Later on we went to my friend's wedding. I have known Ana from high school and college and we have remained good friends. The wedding was a high school reunion, really. It was great to see friends with spouses and catch up. The same band that played at our wedding was there so Ryan and I got to dancing and we reminisced our wedding.
Before the wedding.
Grandma M watched D and they had a great time. Grandma M bought D a monogrammed place mat that he loves so they worked on animals during dinner.Sunday, we were outside at 7:30am with Daniel to try to enjoy a cool breeze before the hot sun melted us into the concrete. Daniel cooled off by splashing in his water table and running through the sprinklers before passing out early for his nap. Did I mention he has molars coming in on the bottom and has been up at 4:30am?! We decided not to go to the beach as originally planned, well mostly the men decided they wanted nothing to do with the outside in this heat. If you know the women in my family you will know that it doesn't stop us from having fun. We packed up and met at the pool by my house and left the men at home. Afterwards we enjoyed pizza.

Notice anything? Yes, pictures! The camera is fixed. I did not bring it to the pool as it will be a long time before the camera leaves a 5 mile radius of our home.
