Big brother Daniel is absolutely thrilled and did a great job with his little brother. He has found a foot fettish with his brother's tiny little feet. :)
We feel so blessed to have our new bundle of joy.  He will do great things, of this we are sure.

37 Weeks

I'm feeling bigger and ready to go! I have been given instructions by my mom not to go any earlier than my scheduled c-section on November 5th. Everyone seems to have a date that I cannot have this baby on. Yeah no pressure.
I've gotten most things done that I need to, I have a few things left to make sure Daniel feels special at school when his brother arrives. I have been in communication with his teacher on how to best celebrate when he becomes a brother; we have agreed on the teacher reading a book to the class, I'm a Big Brother, and sharing some blue M&Ms with his friends. I liked thinking of ways for him to feel special at school with his friends and like getting a bit creative when left alone. ;) Just a few days left before we're a family of 4!

Remembering Lightning

P.S. Since the last post Ryan wanted me to clarify that it was the squirrels that ruined the pumpkin and not poor craftsmanship. Also, we were heros of the night after a trip to target, we scored an oversized, plastic, $30 pumpkin. Chew on that squirrels...OK seriously please don't.

It was a great 18 hours!

We were heros again after $30 spent at Target on a plastic one, fully operational from dusk till dawn on a timer. Oh yeah!

Weekend Recap

It's been one busy weekend. Saturday, I had a much needed hair appointment at which I seriously thought I would go into labor but I didn't. I came home and put my feet up and felt better. Ry took care of dropping and picking D up from Polish school. After Polish school my sister and family took D out to lunch and a trip to Toys R Us to pick out toys when he becomes a big brother. Of course he came out of there with an extra toy that he got to keep right away. Another garbage truck.
Ry and I enjoyed food shopping alone and possibly had our last private late lunch together, just the two of us. It was so lovely to talk without hearing "mommy, mommy, mommy" twenty times during a meal. Heaven.
At night we ordered pizza, popped popcorn and watched Madagascar 3. I went on a cooking strike this weekend and I'm sure the scale will show. :)
Sunday, after church D and I had a birthday party to attend to where he enjoyed bouncing and I enjoyed some girl talk.
After the party, we met daddy half way to the pumpkin farm and then never made it there. About 2 miles away from the farm there was such back-up that we moved 1/4 of a mile in 30 minutes. After about 45 minutes and no end in sight we high tailed it out of there. Daniel claimed "I don't need a pumpkin, I already got one at the other farm", God he is our son. While Ry took D to the park I got pumpkins at the best farm...The Home Depot. We even had time for a photo shoot before our carving began.
It was the best decision and no one was disappointed.
D supervised with a water gun while daddy gutted and carved away a masterpiece.
"Yup, looks good"
He was distracted with his scooter.
Weights
Dancing
Chowing down dinner. He requested we eat outside. It was great shoving Portillo's down in the fresh air.
OH yeah, he liked the finished product. Great job daddy.

Weekend

On Friday we did this. He loves putting his head on my ever growing belly
Mastered head in water during swimming lessons.
We took a trip to a Fire station open house on Saturday even though he claimed he didn't want to go, as soon as he saw the firetrucks he got all excited.
When asked what his favorite part was, he said going through the windows. Of course!
This is what this little guy looked like at 1pm on Sunday. I left the two boys at home to run an errand and they both looked the same as they did at 9am that morning. It was that kind of day.
Our tornado sirens went off, we went to the basement but 20 minutes later it was all over.
I'm 36 weeks today, my amniotic fluid levels went up to a safe amount. I'm trying to relax and drink LOTS of water. 3 weeks from today is the arrival of our second peanut....or earlier.

It's bed time baby

Well, the baby is measuring fine, a little smaller (go figure) but because the stinker is BREECH the measurements are off with "those babies". Just like his brother he has plopped down on his butt and is not turning. It's fine, it really doesn't matter with a scheduled c-section. Unfortunately, my fluid levels are a little lower than they want so just as a precaution the Dr. wants me to relax and drink lots of water. I officially cannot go back to work. Not a problem here as the days that I went in felt like an eternity. Hopefully, with taking it easy and drinking more water my fluids will come back up. We want to get this peanut baked fully in there and keep him in there as long as possible.
I have been having contractions here and there, which is normal but getting me to relax is a tough job so I'm glad I'm being forced to do it.
I have another appt on Friday to re-check my levels, do a stress test and check things out.
So, that's the update. I will be posting more from bed from now on.

35 weeks

With nothing exciting to report from our weeked I figured I would actually post my weekly pregnancy update on the actual date that I graduate to the following week...Monday.
Today marks 35 weeks!!!

What happening in there?
"You’re now carrying over 5 pounds of baby-goodness - not counting their amniotic fluid, the umbilical cord, or the placenta itself.
Developmentally, your wee womb-tenant has the fat-factory running at full tilt while their digestive system puts the finishing touches on critical organs in preparation for their first meal (remember - before birth, all of their nutrition was blood via the umbilical cord)."
I have a cough now so I'm trying to relax. I'm looking forward to a pedicure tonight. I have to get those piggies done early just in case. We just have last minute organizing left, mostly of Daniel's toys. It's expensive to be organized between plastic bins from Costco and trips to IKEA for additional storage units, I'm glad we went cheap on the furniture in the baby's room.
I'll update on Wednesday after my ultrasound of baby to see his growth and how big he is in there.

Picture Perfect

It was picture day at Daniel's afternoon preschool. We practiced a natural smile. This is the best we got. We returned last year's photos so hopefully with picture day at two schools we'll get a winner.
Have a great weekend.

34 weeks

Well I'm ready for this baby. I had my Dr. appt on Tuesday and he's measuring a couple of weeks ahead but the Dr. assured me that it's most likely the way he's laying. Regardless, I have a growth ultrasound on Wednesday to see how big this baby is and make sure things look OK. Next Friday, is my stress test. They want to make sure the baby moves around enough. After that I go in weekly. Something tells me I won't make it till the end since D came 4 weeks early but we'll see.
I'm trying to get everything done before this bambino comes but realize everything doesn't have to be in place.
Daniel told me last night "we need to get more boxes for my toys mommy" because it's been hard clearing his brother's room of ALL of his toys. He doesn't call it his playroom anymore, it's "my brother's room" and it just makes me sad. Out of all the changes we've been making, it's that darn playroom turned baby room that has been the hardest to swallow for ME. Daniel has been fine with it. One box of his toys will remain in the baby room because as I told Daniel "your brother will love to see you play with them". He seems to like that. I've been on a window treatment hunt for a month now and I think I have finally decided on something. That something requires me to pick fabric and run around for rods and that just seems exhausting so I'm procrastinating! So unlike me. :)
