weekend

We had a pretty low key weekend. Oh yeah small thing, we went to the Dr. with Daniel for what I thought would be a quick confirmation that his strep was gone. He finished all of his meds and for sure it would be a 15 minute appointment. Nope, we found out he's still positive. He ended up getting a shot (even though I asked for a shot last time and they claimed there wasn't one). We are hoping this one knocks it out of him and spares us the agony of 10 days of antibiotics. If it doesn't Mr. D will have to have his tonsils removed. Even if he gets over this we will have to see how he handles "school" when and IF he goes back because if he gets strep again he will for sure have to have them removed.
Our weekend consisted of bike rides with daddy, splashing in the pool, taking 3 hour naps and playing with his cousins.
I think all these Dr. appointments have played a huge role in Daniel saying his name is now "Dr. Daniel".
Our improv Dr. appointments consisted of a skit that went something like this:
Daniel closes his bedroom door, waits outside a few seconds and enters the room.
"Hi, I'm Dr. Daniel, you have owie?"
His patients respond "Yes, help us we don't feel good" and come up with a variety of symptoms.
"OK, I help"
Dr. Daniel continues with a thorough exam of his "patients" and then says "you need a shot, I make feel better"
He waits for his patients to scream in agony before he cracks up, closes the door and repeats the whole process again.
We hear him talk outside the door "mommy and daddy are all better".
Daddy has also created a mini version of himself. He bought D his first comic book a week ago and this week volume II came out. D LOVES these books and mommy wants to cry. :)
It was nice to just stay at home and not have anywhere to be. We were going to go to the beach but with Daniel having strep and the humidity enough to melt the yogurt off of D's yogurt pretzels we made our own beach in the back yard.
Next Saturday I'm taking a photography class with a friend. I can't wait.
Now I must attend to the raspberry cheesecake starring at me.
