The Beach

We spent our Sunday at the beach after a quick photo shoot. The boys did good considering the sun was bright as hell and it got warm quickly. We survived it. At the end of it all I could have cared less about our outfits, which changed 48 hours before the photo shoot because I was informed the colors we initially had (aqua) would blend in too much with the water. So, on Friday night at 10pm I was at the store trying on dresses and the one great thing that followed that was me sitting in a drive through of a McDonald's waiting for a $1 burger and an ice cream cone. I didn't even care if I gained 3lbs right before the pictures. It was well deserved after an ordeal to dress a family of 4! I thought we looked cute. I didn't even bust out my camera to try to get my own shots. I left it all to the photographer and warned her with a simple "please edit a lot". I will share if there is anything worthy of sharing.
My son, the foreman, do you see those laborers he's bossing around. He walked around and said "guys the water is not flowing, you need to do (insert command here)" he didn't lay a finger on anything just walked around inspecting. Ry had to have a little talk with him after we heard him say "yeah that's a good job guys". We were cracking up but had to tell him that we don't boss other kids around. The angle was not wide enough to show a total of 15 kids digging and one 5 year old enjoying the fruit of his bossiness.
"I don't want to get dirty" he protested.
The kids were kissed by the sun and exhausted. I think I got some much needed vitamin D because I had so much energy when I got home I did laundry and turned the house upside down, in a good way. I'm paying for it today for sure. Ok, on to watching Homeland with my hubby, who got me addicted to the show.

Weekend

With Michael still in recovery we laid low this weekend, as low as you can with two kids.
Friday, the swimming class. It's a slow process for Daniel to get to just move his hips and not his entire body. He moves like a robot. His teacher was much better this time so we'll see how it all goes.
Saturday, mama had a hair appt and I feel so much better, likely because I went blonder, and you know what they say...
The boys chilled with hubby and he did a great job with them. In the evening Daniel and Ry watched Despicable Me while I ran out to my cousin's house for a bday get together.
This is the only way I can get anything done around here.
When the house seems too big to control the chaos, stick the boys in a 2x4 playpen and enjoy the silence

Then Sunday, I remembered plopping Daniel down with a bunch of toys all around him and did the same with Michael. Again, SCORE! 20 minutes of bliss. This is Daniel at 8 months!!! He was much bigger. Above is Michael. All the toys that you see are out being enjoyed the second time around. Michael chews on more so I have a feeling that more will be garbage this time around.
You can't see the caption, but look at Michael's face. "Whachya talkin' bout Willis?!, you mean you drooled over all this crap before me?!"
We've waited a while to bring out the slip n slide.
My nephew joined
Daniel layed on the couch for like an hour numb from exhaustion.
I made an awesome dessert courtesy of my favorite recipe blog skinnytaste.com. The recipe called for skewers but I made things easier and just gave everyone a bowl.
Yes, someone had some too.
Every time daddy didn't move fast enough. He would look back and just look at daddy pitifully. Worked like a charm. If you are wondering why my husband looks like he is Tony Soprano, it's his shirt (or lack of) of choice around the house in the summer.

Amazing!!!!

A Happy 4th

It was a happy fourth. We started with a parade and ended with me driving for 45 minutes to make my second born go to sleep.
Ahhhh I remember schedules and bedtimes at 8pm and me having the time to do it all

My high school band

And then came the "please let me get a cute picture of the two of my boys".
Take 1
Take 2
Take 3
Take 4
Take 5
Under the weather baby making the best of a bad situation
He loved the firetrucks and police car sirens
We moved the party to my sister's. Yes, Daniel is not happy when mommy told him to take a break from the trampoline. I guess the fact that his face was purple and he was delirious didn't give him the clue to take one himself.

My nephew turns 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
