Another Marron Clan Weekend

Get ready for a ton of pictures!!
I bought Daniel's Halloween outfit this week. I figured he could play with it and get more use out of it than just one night.
He didn't want to take it off.
The outfit needs major ironing but he just looked adorable in it. He wore the eye patch and everything! We're in a pirate phase now, if you haven't figured it out. Cars are still in but thank goodness there is some variety now.
There is a missing sword somewhere in this house...
Ryan scored some free tickets to Medieval Times on Sunday. We didn't think if D would enjoy it so we were hesitant, but hey, they were free so if things got bad we could leave.
The first 30 minutes were like this.
fingers in ears.
but then he loved it
(bruise on cheek happened after church when he slammed into the arm of our living room chair)
Did I mention we sat in the front row without upgrading tickets? It pays to show up right when the show is about to start. They probably have left over unsold upgraded tickets.
I went shopping and came across this shirt today, it was meant to be.

A great family weekend in the bag.

7 years

This weekend we celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. We spent our evening laughing at Daniel's school creation that I found at the bottom of his school bag.
We still can't get out of him why they created glasses but we had fun anyway.
The weather was rainy and a perfect day to put the little man down for a nap and watch a movie together.
Saturday, we had our old sitter visit. She made us delicious apple crepes! To die for. Ryan enjoyed a pound of bacon!
Fall is here, I have to get decor out and up.

School

Weekend was uneventful. After going to the park hauling my big camera I realized I left the memory card at home after downloading the picture in the previous post.
So, I figured I would do a quick update on D and preschool.
The first week was rough. He had a couple of bathroom accidents. 2nd week was great, no accidents, no tears, today first day of the third week and it went well again.
We love the school, the teachers, the parents and all the cute little kids. D has started learning letters this week. He knows them but they are learning sounds of the letter through jolly phonics. The first letter is S. He has to bring an object from home that starts with the letter S on Wednesday. He's bringing a slinky, it's a perfect toy to bring because he calls it "snaky". Maybe she can work on that with him.
He is a huge fan of mommy's packed lunches, a fan of the teacher and the school. We are happy!

Quote of the week

Mama exhorted her children at every opportunity to "jump at de sun." We might not land on the sun, but at least we would get off the ground.

Long weekend quick update

It was a long weekend, I didn't take many pictures but a whole lot of nothing happened.

Friday, I got the energy in the evening to organize our office. It's been a hot mess in there with office supplies everywhere. I got baskets for things and it just makes it much easier to navigate around.
Saturday, we decided to hit the mall to find a cover for our awesome iPad2. It's so sweet, it was a gift from Ry's parents for our anniversary. We love it. Before we left for the mall we relaxed over breakfast, practiced letters and played a game of bowling.
Don't mind the greasy hair, I tried to crop it off. I did take a shower before heading out. I married a man and gave birth to a boy that do not like shopping. It's just painful taking these two to the mall. I feel like I have to produce a flight plan before we leave to set expectations and minimize eye rolling and sighs. (Sigh)

Sunday, we ventured out for a bike ride. It was a bit breezy but a nice ride. We noticed D was sneezing a bit more at night and felt warm but daddy didn't care because D watched Star Wars with him for the first time, he was into it too. Lord help me! I had a feeling things would not be good in the morning as the snuggling increased and whining started. I canceled our play-date for Monday.

Monday, a full blown cold or allergies maybe (praying) set in as our little munchkin walked into our bedroom and said "morning mommy and daddy" in a very nasally voice. The little man stayed in his pajamas all day long and loved the extra cuddles he got. He also watched more of Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean, I swear it was the fever but the kid did not move off the couch. The boys took a nap while I went over to my sister's for a bbq. It was nice to spend time with family but everyone was sad the boys didn't come.
As you can see a fairly boring weekend, we like it that way around here.
I have a busy week ahead at work so postings will be slim. Have a great one!
