alive

Blogger has been giving me nothing but problems lately with my posts. My frustration led to just giving up. That combined with a crazy work schedule and I totally put picture taking and memory treasuring on the back burner. It will be another crazy week before I feel like things may get back to semi-normal.
Helping a kindergartner with lower case letters, reading and manoeuvring his new friends and teachers has taken up some time. Oh yes a mobile little one doesn't help things either. 2 kids really does change things a hell of a lot more than going from zero to 1. It's a whole different ball game people. The house is never clean, laundry is never caught up, the mommy guilt is just insane. For example, Michael has been refusing to fall asleep at night without a full blown hour of crying and rocking, crying and rocking. Meanwhile my sweet 5 year old just watches episode after episode of Calliou. Not that he's complaining but I just feel guilty when I come out of the nursery and all I want to do is have a glass of wine and collapse. Which I can't because....
dishes need to be washed
clothes need to be laid out
laundry folded
folders checked for school
snack packed for school
papers signed
sight words practiced
dinners planned
kitchen cleaned up
etc.
etc.
etc.
Oh yeah that 5 year old continues to watch TV as I run around like a nut. Thank God he's into superhero stuff now and daddy is the expert. It's a rat race every evening. Now with the weather turning and it's getting darker I feel the walls caving in on us at 6:45 where I watch the clock and count down the minutes to giving them a bath.
So, with no new pictures to share I thought I would post some oldies but goodies. In the days of one child and 2 parents.

5 years in a flash

Daniel's baby book is complete. 5 years of memories and milestones put away in his plastic time capsule. Sniff

5 years ago I became a mommy and started this journey of motherhood. It has changed me forever.

10 Months!

Michael you are 10 months old today.
You have been a little fire cracker this month busting through your upper teeth, scooting around, babbling up a storm and being cute as ever.
You are still a small little guy. Not sure of your stats as we don't see your Dr. until 12 months. You've gotten heavier but you move around so much you burn calories.
Bunia claims you said mama but I have yet to hear it. I hear numerous DADA's throughout the day though. You clap your hands now, sign for "more", you give high 5s, you wave hi and bye.
You also started biting on everyone's shoulders. You have 3 teeth coming in at the same time. God help us all.
You still wear 12 months clothes but with fall coming mommy has been busy washing 18 month fall/winter clothes including the dreaded snowsuit your brother hated. We'll have to get a back up.
You have been torturing your big brother more with swiping his toys. You are almost pulling yourself up but not quite yet. When you wake up from your nap you sit right up and wait for someone to get you. We see your little antics on the camera. You are 2 months away from your first birthday!
When we hold you in our arms you climb on us like a little monkey, our own little Curious George.
It's getting harder and harder to change your diaper and by the looks of these pics you are getting harder and harder to capture pictures of.
Happy 10 months baby boy.

Loved this

As the first full week of school begins I couldn't help but to think of the years ahead and then the final letting go phase.
