Weeknd Recap

The blog has not been my top priority at all. I have to force myself to update it tonight as I feel it needs a bit more pics of this family besides the bathroom. Which by the way, is 95% complete, but if you know me you know I won't post pics that are not 100% done. The shower curtain came in and I love it. All we have left is the grout on the mosaic tile and sconces. That's it!!!
OK, so Saturday we had a birthday party for a sweet little 3 year old princess. The theme was royal so I had to think of something to put on D as stores really don't cater to prince outfits.
I slaved over a hot iron in our basement to create this masterpiece, HA!
It says PRINCE! Unique, heck no, but it said what it needed to say. Glad I didn't go over board since the other boys' moms obviously couldn't find outfits either. Since we arrived 45 minutes late because the navigation on my phone obviously can't distinguish between Lincolnway and Lincoln Ave that are about 10 miles apart, we made it just in time to have a slice of pizza and then some cake.
My girlfriend made the cake herself, it was tasty.
We came home exhausted, I had to pick up the mirror for the bathroom on my way home. The mosaic went up. We finally cleaned up the hallway clutter, I'm still cleaning the floors. Swiffer sure is handy for cleaning the dust off of walls.
Sunday, we went to church for Palm Sunday, I got D dressed up and was going to take a picture but by the time we got home we had a full melt down on our hands, I forget what the reason was, probably not going outside, or closing the door for him, or taking his shoes off before he got to do it himself. The choices are limited but the screaming and tantrums come in variety of flavors.
A little nap later had him feeling better so we ventured outside, but dinner time had to come sometime and another tantrum followed.
After dinner we retreated to D's new organized playroom that I slaved over on Friday night. He needed more floor space, he lays down on the floor to play with his cars so some things had to go.
I was able to put a lot of things into a storage bin. Family room is next and I'm excited!
Here is our attempt to take a family photo with our auto timer.
Yes! Blurry but better
Have a great Monday everyone!

Almost there

This weekend was overwhelming with trying to finish up the bathroom remodel. We are so close, but not done yet.
Saturday, with the gorgeous weather D had to be watched outside as we tried to help my brother in law in the bathroom. He didn't take a nap and by 4pm both Ryan and I regretted giving in to this happy little boy at 1pm, who looked like he would make it without a nap. Live and learn. I ran around trying to buy things that didn't work, i.e. toilet didn't come with the right bolts, faucet didn't match the counter top holes, the pipes didn't extend long enough, missing caulk (which we swore we bought 10 tubes). It just seemed like it was never ending.
Just as we were about to go buy bikes (you know to reward ourselves for the hard work my brother in law has been doing), my brother in law pulled up and was ready to do more work. We felt like we almost escaped Alcatraz, we were forced out of our car and back to work. :)
Sunday, wasn't better. I decided we would skip church to catch up on things.
I ran around like a mad woman trying to find a shower curtain. The ONE I found on line was not in stock. I ordered it at the store, if it doesn't work out I will return it and chase after another one. Remember, I had to pick the paint, without the curtain in hand I had to go with the best neutral color-beige. That was the next stop-Benjamin Moore-$47 for a gallon of paint later.... I was back at the tile store getting more grout since we ran out. I made a stop or two to look for a mirror, no luck! Ry was running Home Depot errands as D enjoyed time with his cousins. My niece and nephew just love him to pieces.
We ate lunch (the happy family) and then my sister and kids took D for a walk, 5 minutes into the walk he passed out and took a nice nap at her house. Later we went out for ice cream at a family owned ice cream parlor. With all the running around I did not take any pictures of the kids. I'm so mad at myself, but walking upstairs to get the camera when I had blisters on my feet might have been the end of me.
We survived and we're almost at the finish line but that last mile is always the toughest.
The still dirty tile...but better than the old beige. We did a mosaic about 3/4 of the way up . Full pics to come when the tub is clean. :)
The new faucet that needs a good cleaning but at least it's not rusted inside.
The mess still outside the bathroom door (well never mind, the door was taken off)
The mama that needs a pedicure, really badly and baby who keeps saying "My bathroom is going to be nice mommy". FYI-he picked out "bwack" and "poople" to go on his walls. Not gonna happen.
Daddy taking over reading time so I can blog and regain any sanity that I may have left. As Ry said to his friend this weekend "my wife is in "DO" mode". Good hubby!
Off to bed, hopefully this crazy wind/storms won't keep me up too long....NAH!

Still here

I have been busy this week steaming up the credit card buying things such as:
New faucet

Accessories

Potty chair. Every day D is asking "where did my potty go?" and "It's dirty in here"

The tile is on and we LOVE how it looks. Full reveal coming soon.
This weekend I'm on the search for a shower curtain and some other accessories. I don't want to over do a kid's theme because let's be honest he won't be a kid forever but I'll incorporate a few things that will make D happy and won't break the bank. I need to find the curtain before I choose the paint to make sure the colors work.
Our house is a disaster, it will take me 2 weeks to get things back to normal. D has been spending time with Grandma and Grandpa during the week at their house, having fun walking on the treadmill. The mornings have been stressful so I'm looking forward to having Grandma commute back to us. :)
Does it look like he's enjoying his brand new Cadillac? He just says "I ride my baby car mommy".
I'm off to bed because there is a lot of work to be done tomorrow. Have a great weekend!
