In the name of love

We have been spending more time outside since the weather has been nice, but looking at our weather predictor on our fridge, it's showing more snow. Of course on Saturday, the day of D's b-day party.
This weekend we had a play date on Saturday that was a success. Sunday, I ventured out of my comfort zone to support my husband's love of comics. We went to the comic book convention. Yes, that's love. To my surprise nerds of all ages were there. A few dressed up folks kept us entertained. I was not one of them. Ha!
We enjoyed some much needed family time. While daddy was getting an autograph, D and I walked the aisles and came across a kid section but all he needed was a car.
To his disappointment, it did not open. As soon as we left there was a guy with a rag and spray cleaning his little finger prints off. How dare they?
We colored a little...
D got a new Superman shirt (that cost double of what it would have at Wal-mart)
Superman was not having any pictures taken
except with daddy of course
who wore his own superman shirt.
D was exhausted but did great. He went potty 3 times there and had no accidents!!!
He has been doing wonderful at the new sitter's and loves seeing his buddy, Kevin. I love seeing him happy and healthy, for a change.
My dining room is getting more crowded with party supplies. The blog will be light this week but a full report of the party will surely make up for it. I'm sure the anticipation is killing y'all. I'm reminding myself to take tons of pictures and to enjoy it and my baby. I'm not stressed, just making lists to help me stay organized. I can't believe my baby will be 3. He has changed so much in the last 2 months. Ry and I can't believe his vocabulary, he doesn't stop talking. We love it.
We have decided to take off of work on D's actual birthday, and celebrate in a special way, just the three of us! There will be an update on that too. Stay tuned.

ABCs and 123s

He does a much better job when he's not in a hurry to get out of the bathroom and into bed to watch TV.

Tantrums and a milestone

Our weekend was fairly busy. D slept over my mom's house on Saturday while Ryan and I relaxed and watched the Social Network. Great movie.
Sunday, after church we had a birthday party for a 5 year old girl. It was at a play land place and D loved it. He loved it so much that he threw a tantrum when we were trying to leave. We're working on dealing with more tantrums lately. The word "No" that comes out of his cute little mouth is getting a little old.
We have a new time out place, in the living room, facing the wall. What is happening to my sweet little boy?! He's testing us, I know this is all phase...
He tested us during dinner so much that he ended up in his crib with a bib on him. Thankfully a little walk outdoors calmed him down.
Today Daniel officially was released from speech. His last session will be next Thursday with our sweet therapist Jamie. He's ready for new adventures.
He's doing great with the new sitter and her son. He has a good life.
Speaking of good life, we are in full party planning mode. Here is Daniel's invitation. More details about the party to come later but I will say I will need a part time job with the cost of everything adding up.

MIA

I have been MIA for the past two weeks, lots has been going on, finally I'm able to catch my breath. The blog was the last thing on my mind.
It all started with last Saturday when D was diagnosed with Strep again! Both Ry and I went into protective parent mode. I made some calls and by Monday he was going to a neighbor to be watched. My sister knows her, she has a 3 year old boy that is only a week younger than Daniel. His name is Kevin and D LOVES him. We pulled him out of daycare that Monday. He is a happy little guy. Mostly because there are new toys there and much less structure. It's a temporary thing but we hope that when we come back from FL he'll be ready to go back to school for the summer. And the germs will have gone away. His potty training has been going great. Not one accident this week, unlike at school he threw a fit when I went to pick him up. He wanted to stay longer. It's so refreshing to see.
Besides that we have been:
Enjoying breakfasts in bed while sick
Building forts in our living room
and getting a "PERFECT" score on his teeth brushing. D let "Doctor Dentist" as he calls him, inspect all of his teeth, polish them and floss. He was a trooper.
That sums up our two weeks.
Have a great weekend!
